Fort Wall System V1 for Unreal Engine
A procedural spline-based Fort Wall system that is flexible and easy-to-use. Populate your level with layers of Fort Walls on an undulating landscape within minutes.
Draw splines that use an array of modular meshes to create a continuous fort wall. A set of Fort wall meshes with different crenellation designs and loop holes is included. Additional versions with long slit loop holes are also included. For each design type a matching square Bastion and Gate mesh in also present in the pack. These Bastions and Gates can be placed in the spline at specific locations, or bastions can be repeated at regular intervals. These help to build the wall quickly and fine tune as needed.
The meshes are designed to work seamlessly in the system, replacing the wall meshes with desired meshes. Using randomize feature, and an array of mesh choices, fortwalls can be created with a natural real feel. With snap to landscape and stepping features, you can create authentic-looking fortifications.
Essential features
- Spline-based fort wall generator.
- Randomize placement of curtain walls.
- Add bastions or gates at specific locations.
- Add bastions at regular intervals.
- Use your own meshes for fort wall elements.
- Snap/conform to landscape.
- Ignore static mesh actors option.
- Continuous or stepped wall (staggered) option. Fine control stepping by adding/removing spline points.
- Offset mesh up or down (along z).
- Override fort wall material (optional).
- Basic materials and crafted landscape included.
Fortwall conditions by replacing wall sections
- Gates: Add a gate mesh to replace wall sections. Add them at specific locations.
- Bastions: Add a bastion mesh to replace wall sections. Add at fixed intervals or specific locations.
- (Advanced custom feature) Add specific fort wall conditions (meshes) by replacing a select wall section. This can be used to add gates, damages and breaches at specific locations. Add as many types based on your own meshes.
How it works
- The system uses an array of curtain wall meshes as the main element populating the spline.
- An array system is used to replace specific sections with your desired custom meshes.
- This system is able to create all varieties of fort wall conditions, limited only by the type of assets.
- The wall mesh is distributed along a spline uniformly. Mesh length defines the number of segments (sections or modules) that will be populated on the spline. Increasing spline length will result in addition of more sections, and not stretch the mesh to suit length of spline.
- An override option can be used to force a fixed section length, irrespective of wall mesh length. This option will fit (scale) the meshes to the resulting section length.
Note: Basic Fort wall and Landscape materials included. Demo illustrates various applications of the Fort wall system, using Fort Wall example meshes, based on studies of fort walls from India.
